Students stage ‘Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam’ on the occasion of the Eighth Institute Day in 1967

Student Activities , Institute Activities , Institute Events

In the April 1967 edition of Campastimes, the front page article is about the performance: “The ‘Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam’ did not do justice to Firadusi, though the setting was fabulous.” Firdausi was a Persian poet who wrote one of the greatest national epics, the Shahnameh. Plays were an integral part of the entertainment programmes during the Institute Days of the 1960s at IIT Madras.
