Liquid extraction unit and distillation column, Chemical Engineering laboratory — early gift from Germany.
Academic Facilities
This is a liquid extraction unit from the Transfer Operations laboratory of the Chemical Engineering department, a gift from Germany in the institute's early days.
Behind it rises a distillation column, another hallmark of chemical engineering practice. In today’s context, the cost of operating such units has become prohibitive, and they are preserved mainly for demonstration purposes. Together, they represent the legacy of hands-on learning and the international collaborations that enriched the institute’s formative years.
