Major General Virendra Singh inspects cadets on NCC Day, 1965

Inaugurations , Institute Events , Visiting VIPs

NCC Day and the inauguration of the NCC building took place on the same day, 14 December 1965. This has been recorded in the Seventh Annual Number of IIT Madras, 1965-66. The official proceedings of the new NCC building took place outside the building, while this photograph appears to have been taken in an open ground, where NCC Day was celebrated.

Major General Virendra Singh (Director General, NCC) was associated with IIT Madras even prior to 1965. He was the chief guest during NCC Day on 4 December 1963.
