This photograph was taken during Saarang, IIT Madras’ annual cultural fest. From a report in The Fourth Estate, a campus publication, we know that there were several music competitions not only in the classical category, but also in the Western music and light music category. Through the reports, we know that colleges from Chennai dominated the Western music competitions. However, there is not much information regarding the classical music competitions.
