This photograph was taken during IIT Madras’ annual cultural fest Saarang. Judging by the badge worn by the student in the grey t-shirt, it is likely that he was a co-ordinator for an event or show. The text on the lanyard appears to be ‘Saarang 2003’, but this is not confirmed.
From an article in the campus publication The Fourth Estate, we know that there were more than 300 students involved in setting up Saarang 2003.
The student to the left has been identified as Jagadeesan Sundaresan (B. Tech., Computer Science Department) and the student to the right has been identified as Karthik Vasudevan (B. Tech. Civil Engineering Department). The students were identified with the help of Mr. Ganesh Mohan (IIT Madras alumnus from 1999-2003 B. Tech. Mechanical Engineering batch).
