This photograph was taken during an event held to officially hand over the Siemens 7580-E Computer System to IIT Madras. It took place at the Central Lecture Theatre (CLT) at IIT Madras and was attended by several distinguished German guests. The computer system was gifted to IIT Madras by the Federal Republic of Germany under the Indo-German Agreement.
Dr. Seitz was an academic and diplomat who authored several books on art and politics. Dr. Seitz and his wife Eva showed a deep interest in Indian art and paintings. They donated their research and collections to the Rietberg Museum, Switzerland.
