A photograph of faculty members of the Institute gathered at a meeting

The event during which the photograph was taken is yet to be confirmed. Some of the faculty in the photograph are Prof. B. Sengupto (Director of IIT Madras), Prof. M. V. C. Sastri (Chemistry Department), Dr. Ing. G. Stahl
(Mechanical Engineering Department), Mr. C. V. Sethunathan (Registrar) and Prof. P. C. Verghese (Civil Engineering Department), Dr. P. Venkata Rao (Electrical Engineering Department), Dr. D. Venkateswarlu (Chemical Engineering Department), Prof. S. Sampath (Electrical Engineering Department), Prof. R. K. Gupta (Humanities and Social Sciences Department) and Dr. E. G. Ramachandran (Metallurgical Engineering Department). 

The photograph was possibly taken between the years 1964-1966 when Mr. Lal Bahadur Shastri served as the Prime Minister judging by the portrait of Mr. Shastri on the wall. It is likely that the meeting took place at the Building Sciences Block, owing to the fact that the Administrative Block was still under construction during this period.
