Aeronautical Engineering Block

The Aeronautical Engineering Building was opened by Mr. H. V. R. Iengar in April 1969.
The Convocation Brochure of IIT Madras, 1967 notes the sanctioning of an Aeronautical Engineering Block. The Annual Report of IIT Madras, 1968 mentions that the Aeronautical Engineering Building was completed and occupied during the academic year. The report also mentions that the construction had started in December 1967.
Album 0049 does not have a photograph of the Student Activities Centre (SAC) which was completed in 1983, but it does have a photograph of Quark, which was completed around 1980. Thus the date of the album is probably 1981 or 1982.
