This photograph was taken during an event, most likely a music contest organized at IIT Madras’ annual fest Saarang. According to The Fourth Estate, a campus publication, some of the music contests were Western Music, Light Music and Antakshari. Through the report, we know that groups of students from various colleges in the city and country took part in the events, but the Western Music competition was dominated by Chennai college students.
