Idichandy has been Dean of Students, and Deputy Director at IIT Madras; he has also been Chairman – JEE and has held posts as a professor.

Saarang 2005 was held from 21 to 26 January. Numerous events and competitions, professional live music shows and workshops took place during the 6 days of the cultural festival.
