The event in this photograph appears to be a group music competition. Instruments seen in the image include tabla, guitar and keyboard. After a preliminary round, selected participants would have a final round where winners would be chosen. It is not clear whether this performance is for a preliminary or final round.
In 2005, IIT Madras’ cultural festival Saarang, was conducted from 21 to 26 January, with events in music, debate, quiz, Informals, solo and group competitions, Decibels, Choreo Nite, and professional shows.
