The Institute Gymkhana conducted a variety of non-academic events throughout the year. Some of the activities that the Gymkhana has been known to conduct: Inter-University Sports Tournaments, Inter-IIT Meets, Inter-Hostel Entertainment Competitions and Inter-Collegiate Athletic Meets. The Gymkhana activities extended to fund raising as well. A few years prior to this photograph, in 1968, the Institute Gymkhana’s staff and students raised a total of Rs. 7,000 to aid the victims of the ‘Koyna Earthquake’ by organising a film festival.
