Institute Events , Students
On Institute Days in the early years, boys often donned the roles of women in plays since there were no women students in the Institute during the first few years. Dances, magic shows, plays, music performances and various cultural activities were a hallmark of Institute Day in the 1960s. It was a community event which brought together students, professors and staff members of IIT, children from Vanavani School, campus children and other residents of the campus. The performers in the photograph are yet to be identified.
An identical photograph can be found in the Central Photographic Section Collection in Album 0025 under the ID: 001/0025/IMG_0780_1
