This photograph was taken on 8 August 1989 when IIT Madras held its 26th Convocation. The image shows Prof. L. S. Srinath, the then Director of IIT Madras on the day of the Convocation.

In this image, a gentleman helps Prof. L. S. Srinath with his convocation robes. Prof. L. Srinath was the Director of IIT Madras from 27 July 1984 till 10 August 1989 making this his last Convocation as Director.
