Brahma the band stages a performance, 2003

This photograph shows a picture of Devraj Sanyal, the singer of the band Brahma, which headlined the rock show on the final day of Saarang. Brahma, a thrash metal band from Mumbai, was formed in 1993. It comprised Vince Thevor on the bass, Cyrus Gorimar on the drums, John Ferns on the lead guitars and Devraj Sanyal on the vocals. Guitarist Ferzad Variyava joined the band later on in 2011. Brahma was one of India’s first metal bands.

The rock shows at Saarang were extremely popular. Both international and Indian metal and rock bands have headlined the rock night at the Institute over the years.
