This photograph shows some of the audience members at an event during Saarang 2005. Saarang 2005 took place from 21-26 January. Events during Saarang included quizzes, Antakshari, Debate, Fine Arts, Extempore, Informals, and Music competitions.

Earlier known as Mardi Gras, Saarang is the cultural festival of IIT Madras, with events for students to participate and compete in; Saarang in 2005 also had professional shows with rock, Western music, jazz, and Indian classical music performances.

This photograph appears to have been taken in the Open Air Theatre of IIT Madras where several Saarang events were held, making use of the immense audience capacity of the Open Air Theatre (OAT).
