In this photograph, prize distribution seems to be taking place: Mrs. Jayashree Ananth, the wife of Director M. S. Ananth gives away a prize to the recipient. Towards the right side of the photograph, the person in glasses and white shirt is Director M. S. Ananth. Prof. M. S. Ananth was the Director of IIT Madras from 2001-2001.

Saarang 2005 was held from 21 to 26 January 2005 and had professional shows including Indian classical music, Western music, light music, jazz, and rock.
