This picture was taken at a special convocation held at IIT Madras where Dr. Richard von Weizsäcker was presented with an honorary degree of Doctor of Science. The individuals in the photo have not yet been identified.
Dr. Weizsäcker, who was the President of the Federal Republic of Germany, visited IIT Madras along with his wife, Marianne.
