Outside the Ocean Engineering Centre, 1991
This photograph shows Dr. Richard von Weizsäcker (President, Federal Republic of Germany, third from right) holding his suit. He visited IIT Madras in order to receive a degree of Doctor of Science (honoris causa). The ceremony was held at the Student Activities Centre (SAC). Dr. Weizsäcker also visited various other departments including the Ocean Engineering Department (in image) and the Computer Sciences Department.
We are yet to identify the other persons in the photograph.
