At the special convocation held in 1991
This photograph was taken during a special convocation held at IIT Madras to confer the degree of Doctor of Science (honoris causa) on Dr. Richard von Weizsäcker.
Dr. Weizsäcker was the President of the Federal Republic of Germany. He visited IIT Madras with his wife Marianne.
The gentleman in the photograph is yet to be identified.
The person in the first row to the extreme right is Prof. R. Nagarajan (Head of Computer Science and Engineering Department).
