The President of the Federal Republic of Germany, Dr. Richard von Weizsäcker was conferred the degree of Doctor of Science (honoris causa) at a special convocation held at IIT Madras. He visited IIT Madras with his wife Marianne. This photograph was taken during his visit to the Institute in 1991. It appears that this photograph was taken at the Computer Sciences Block.
