Cultural Events , Institute Events , Students
Dances, magic shows, plays, music performances and various cultural activities were a hallmark of the Institute Day programme in the 1960s. It was a community event which brought together students, professors and staff members of IIT, children from Vanavani School, campus children and other residents of the campus.
One can observe several musical instruments in the photograph. There appears to be a guitar/ukulele (far left), an accordion, a drum kit, and an Indian percussion instrument, possibly a mridangam (far right). The performers are yet to be identified.
