Tea time at IIT Madras, 1964

This photograph was taken during the first Inter-Collegiate Sports Meet at the Institute.

According to Lionel Paul’s (Sports Secretary) report in the IIT Madras Annual Number 1963-1964, the meet was followed by a sumptuous tea, after which the prize distribution was held.

In the photograph, facing camera, from the left, Mrs. Ann Lohmann Fisher, Mrs. Shanti Sengupto (Director’s wife) and Mr. Gerhard Fischer (Consul, Federal Republic of Germany). Prof. P. C. Varghese (Civil Engineering Department) is seen to the far right.
