Behind the participant, the name of the cultural festival is written in chalk on a blackboard: “Saarang - 2005.” It is not known whether this photograph is of a Singing or Speaking event as there were numerous kinds of events held during Saarang.

Some of these events were: Quiz, Potpourri, Extempore, Informals, Creative Writing, Debate, Fine Arts, Semi Classical Vocals, Radio Play and Crossie, Light Music, Western Music, Elocution, live professional music shows and workshops.
