This photograph shows members of a band taking part in Decibels during the Saarang cultural festival of 2005. Saarang ran from 21 to 26 January, 2005. The backdrop of the stage clearly shows the name of the event “Decibels 2005.” Along with that, the name of the sponsor Nokia is also seen, as is the projection of the word “Nokia” which was a sponsor for this edition of Saarang.

Decibels is a Western music band competition held during Saarang for colleges in India. Though a music event, it is not the only music event conducted as part of Saarang. According to the event schedule of 2005, other music events of 2005 included Western Music Solo, Western Music Group, Light Music Solo, Light Music group, Semi Classical Vocals and Antakshari. Some of the events in 2005 were Quiz, Potpourri, Extempore, Informals, Creative Writing, Debate, Fine Arts, Radio Play and Crossie.
