This is a Light Music competition as seen by the words “Light Music…” on the backdrop of the stage. Saarang 2005 events included several in music such as Western Music Solo, Western Music Group, Light Music Solo, Light Music group, Semi Classical Vocals and Antakshari. Other events were Quiz, Potpourri, Extempore, Informals, Creative Writing, Debate, Fine Arts, Radio Play and Crossie.

Apart from events and competitions, there were also live Professional Shows and workshops conducted during Saarang. This edition of Saarang was held from 21 to 26 January 2005. This event may have been held at a location between the Humanities and Sciences Block (HSB) and the Open Air Theatre (OAT).
