Administrators , Cultural Events , Institute Events

This photograph was taken during the Fourth Institute Day at IIT Madras. The location of the photograph has been confirmed as the Bose-Einstein Guest House based on the fact the window grills match with that of the Guest House lobby even today (October 2022).

From left, Mr. Bishnuram Medhi (Governor of Madras and chief guest), Dr. A. L. Mudaliar (Chairman, Board of Governors) and Mr. Gerhard Fischer (Consul General, Federal Republic of Germany).

Mr. Fischer was closely associated with the Institute from its early days. In the Fifth Annual Number of IIT Madras, 1963-64, Mr. Fischer wrote a short article dated 15 February 1964 conveying his best wishes for IIT Madras. His term as Consul General was coming to an end.
