A guest speaks at the 50th Institute Day, 2009

This photograph was taken during the 50th Institute Day of IIT Madras, which took place on 17 April 2009. IIT Madras presents its highest award to alumni, known as the Distinguished Alumnus Award (DAA), during Institute Days.
The recipients of the award can be seen seated on the stage. The chief guest for the ceremony was Mr. K. V. Rangaswami, then the Whole-time Director & President (Construction), L&T Ltd. Mr. K. V. Rangaswami is also an alumnus of IIT Madras, having completed his B.Tech. in Civil Engineering in 1965. The photograph has captured one of the guests speaking during the ceremony.
Also pictured on the stage are Prof. V. G. Idichandy (Dean of Students) and the chief guest for the event, Mr. K. V. Ramaswami and Prof. M. S. Ananth (Director, IIT Madras, 2001-2011).
