This photograph was taken during the 50th Institute Day of IIT Madras, which took place on 17 April 2009. IIT Madras presents its highest award to alumni, known as the Distinguished Alumnus Award (DAA), during Institute Days.
The chief guest for the ceremony was Mr. K. V. Rangaswami, then the Whole-time Director & President (Construction), L&T Ltd. Mr. K. V. Rangaswami is also an alumnus of IIT Madras, having completed his B.Tech. in Civil Engineering in 1965.
The photograph has also captured a section of the audience.The photograph shows the chief guest addressing the audience during the 50th Institute Day ceremony.
