Mr. K. Ravi Kumar receives the Distinguished Alumnus Award at the 50th Institute Day, 2009

This photograph was taken on 17 April 2009 when IIT Madras celebrated its 50th Institute Day. IIT Madras presents its highest award to alumni, known as the Distinguished Alumnus Award (DAA), during Institute Days.
Mr. K. Ravi Kumar was one of the recipients that year. He graduated from IIT Madras with an MTech in Electrical Engineering in 1972 and is most recently Chairman & Managing Director at Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd.
The photograph shows Prof. M. S. Ananth who was the Director of IIT Madras (2001-2011) at that time, presenting the award to Mr. K. Ravi Kumar. The third person at the right side of the photograph is Mr. K. V. Rangaswami [Whole-time Director & President (Construction), L&T Ltd] who was the chief guest for the function.
