In the image the participants of the Short Term Course in High Vacuum Technology examine and discuss a thin film equipment within a bell jar being evacuated (possibly).


In December 1968, IIT Madras conducted, with assistance from the Technical Physics Division of the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, Trombay, a three-week course in ‘High-Vacuum Technology’. There were 54 participants, drawn from academic institutions, research laboratories and industrial establishments. Dr. H. N. Sethna, Director, Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, Trombay, delivered the valedictory address at the valedictory function that was held at the end of the course.
