The Chief Guest, Dr. P. Subbarayan (Union Minister of Transport and Communication) distributed a number of prizes to students and faculty members at the Third Institute Day. The Institute Day of IIT Madras is a day marked to celebrate the hard work and success of people who have shown excellence in academics as well as extracurricular activities. In the image, Dr. P. Subbarayan hands over a prize to Mr. Jacob Dominic (1964 B. Tech. Electrical Engineering). Mr. Jacob Dominic later went on to study an M.S. in the University Of Washington, U.S.A. Also present in the image, behind Mr. Dominic, is Mr. Anand Singh Bawa (founding editor of Campastimes, an IIT students’ publication).
