According to a report in The Hindu, “Saxophonist Kadri Gopalnath and Moksha, the rock band, performed a fusion show on the second night.”  Kadri Gopalnath was born in 1950 in Karnataka. He was introduced to music by his father Thaniappan, a Nadaswaram vidwan. Gopalnath’s interest gravitated towards the saxophone over the years. Kadri Gopalnath received the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award in the early 2000s and the Padma Shri in 2004.

The campus publication The Fourth Estate was critical of the performance and did not go into the details of the performance. Nevertheless, the shows at Saarang were well attended and the audience enjoyed the music performances.
