Mrs. Srinath was the wife of Prof. L. S. Srinath (Director of IIT Madras). Mrs. Seitz was the wife of the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany Dr. Konrad Seitz, who was also present at the function during which this photograph was taken. The occasion for the visit of the Germans was the handing of the Siemens 7580-E computer system to IIT Madras as agreed upon in the Indo-German agreement of 1986.
