This photograph was taken during IIT Madras’ annual cultural and social fest Saarang. It was taken during one of the many events organized at the event. IIT Madras hosted Saarang in a grand fashion. Performers including Shaan, Kadri Gopalnath and Brahma the band performed during the evenings. Plenty of college bands took part in contests to fight for the top spot. This photograph was possibly taken during one of the music contests, but this is yet to be confirmed. According to a report in The Hindu, events such as light music, antakshari, and Western music were some of the popular contests, drawing large crowds.
