Dr. A. L. Mudaliar and Dr. C. D. Deshmukh at the Central School’s inauguration programme, 1965

Campus Facilities , Inaugurations , Campus Buildings

Seated amongst the audience (from the left): Dr. C. D. Deshmukh (Vice-Chancellor of University of Delhi) and Dr. A. L. Mudaliar (Chairman, Board of Governors) in the first row. In the second row, Mrs. Shanti Sengupto (wife of Prof. B. Sengupto) is seated second from the left, with Mrs. Y. S. Ramaswamy (wearing sunglasses) beside her.

This photograph shows Dr. A. L. Mudaliar and Dr. C. D. Deshmukh interacting while sitting amidst the audience at the Central School’s inauguration programme in1965.

The audience  features the first batch of school students, who are dressed in the classic white and navy blue uniform. This uniform, which had been in use since the inception of Central Schools in India in 1963, was changed in 2012-13.

The event took place outside the main entrance of the Central School building, which is visible in the picture. This entrance, however, is  no longer the main entrance to the school. The second entrance was possibly built later in time. The name ‘Central School’ was later changed to Kendriya Vidyalaya.
