Administrators , Faculty , Institute Events

This photograph was taken during the award presentation ceremony of the Seventh Institute Day. Dr. Mudaliar (Chairman, Board of Governors and chief guest) is seated considering his age and the possibly extended duration of the prize giving ceremony. Dr. Mudaliar would turn 80 on 14 October.

During Institute Days, awards were given to students and staff members for their contribution to various facets of Institute life including academic and extracurricular activities.

Dr. Raja Sir Muthiah Chettiar (Pro-Chancellor, Annamalai University and Member, Board of Governors, second from left) and Mr. Lionel Paul (General Secretary, third from left) are seated at the stage. Mr. C. V. Sethunathan (Registrar) is also in the frame to the extreme right. Prof. C. Ramasastry (Physics Department) is receiving the prize in the photograph.

This was the first time the Chairman of the Board of Governors was chief guest at an Institute Day. Mr. C. Subramaniam (Union Minister for Food and Agriculture), was unable to come to the event and had been initially chosen to be the chief guest.
