This photograph was taken during the seminar organized by the German Academic Exchange Service (D. A. A. D.). The seminar was held to discuss further improvements and changes to be made to the exchange programme. The event was held in January 1968, and it is reported in the Convocation Brochure that over 50 Indian students who were former German scholarship holders attended the event.
Dr. Emil Lehnartz (President of the D. A. A. D., wearing a tie) attended the event. At this time, Dr. Lehnartz was nearing the end of his tenure as President of the organization. He served as President from 1960 to 1968. His wife Mrs. Lehnartz is also seen in the photograph.
