This photograph was taken on the day the Siemens 7580-E computer system was given to IIT Madras. The Federal Republic of Germany handed the system to the Institute under the Indo-German agreement. The officials in the photograph were welcomed at the Bose-Einstein Guest House possibly prior to the official function which was held at the Central Lecture Theatre (CLT).
