In December 1968, IIT Madras conducted, with assistance from the Technical Physics Division of the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, Trombay, a three-week course in ‘High-Vacuum Technology’. There were 54 participants, drawn from academic institutions, research laboratories and industrial establishments. Among the dignitaries present at the valedictory function, held at the end of the course, were Dr. H. N. Sethna (Director, Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, Trombay) who delivered the Valedictory Address and Mr. C. Ambasankaran (Head of Technical Physics Division, Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, Trombay).
