The event has been described in the IIT Madras Annual Number of 1963-1964. Lionel Paul, the Sports Secretary states in his report that the event was held on 1 and 2 February, 1964. Paul notes that there were relatively few entries from the city colleges but the event was a success.
The student receiving the prize has been tentatively identified as Mr. Anand Singh Bawa (confirmation required). Anand Singh Bawa was one of the people who established the popular magazine Campastimes. He was also the first editor of the same. Prior to setting up the magazine, Bawa had also edited the Annual Number.
