Prof. Arcot Ramachandran addresses the gathering at the valedictory function of the Short Term Course in High Vacuum Technology

Sampath (Deputy Director, IIT Madras) and Prof. Arcot  Ramachandran (Director, IITM). Incidentally, Mr. Ambasankaran and Mr. Gourishankar (the photographer of this event) were brothers.


In December 1968, IIT Madras conducted a three-week course in ‘High-Vacuum Technology’ with assistance from the Technical Physics Division of the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, Trombay. At the end of the course, on 21st December, 1968, a valedictory function was held during which certificates were distributed and speeches were given. The valedictory address was given by Dr. H. N. Sethna, Director, Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, Trombay
