Young children perform a dance during the Tenth Institute Day, 1969
Cultural Events , Institute Events
It is possible that the children are performing dandiya, a traditional Indian dance usually done with sticks. Dances, magic shows, plays, music performances and various cultural activities were a hallmark of the Institute Day programme in the 1960s. It was a community event which brought together students, professors and staff members of IIT, children from Vanavani School, campus children and other residents of the campus. The performers are yet to be identified.
