In the photograph, a student is on the ground as two others stand in what appears to be a circle made of students. People in the crowd are wearing a smile; some of them are clapping, pointing at the scene in front of them, and others just seem to be enjoying this moment. This is seen to be taking place somewhere on the IIT Madras campus.
According to the event schedule, some of the events in 2005 were Quiz, Potpourri, Extempore, Informals, Creative Writing, Debate, Fine Arts, Western Music Solo, Western Music Group, Light Music Solo, Light Music group, Antakshari, Semi Classical Vocals, Radio Play and Crossie. Apart from events and competitions, there were also live Professional Shows and workshops conducted during Saarang. This edition of Saarang took place from 21 to 26 January 2005.
