This photograph was taken during Choreo Nite, a dance competition held as part of Saarang. The photograph shows a college dance team that incorporated handstands into their choreography.
Choreo Nite has 2 types of themes for the dances: themed and non-themed, called Theme and Non-Theme. It is not clear if the dance team in the photograph was performing a themed or non-themed dance.
Proceeds from Choreo Nite usually go to a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) or a charity. During the 2005 edition of Saarang, during which this photograph was taken, the proceeds from Choreo Nite went towards the relief fund for the 2004 Indian Ocean earthquake and tsunami which occurred on 26 December. Choreo Nite was held on 23 January 2005. Saarang 2005 was held from 21 to 26 January 2005.
