This photograph was taken during the 20th convocation of IIT Madras. Prof. R. Kalyana Krishnan (Head of Computer Science Department, at podium) is seen calling out the graduands to award the degrees.

According to the Annual Report of IIT Madras (1983-84), a total of 580 students received their degrees during the 20th convocation, pushing the total number of degrees awarded by the Institute to 9537.

The graduand is yet to be identified.
