Srinivasan, Prof. W. Lutz (Department of Mechanical Engineering), and Dr. V. Sivaramakrishnan (Department of Physics and General Secretary of Staff Club).

Within the Staff Club indoor games such as Table Tennis, Carrom and Bridge were regularly played by the members. Tennis, Shuttle Badminton, Ball Badminton and Tennikoit were also played by the members occasionally. In March 1966, annual tournaments were conducted and more than seventy members participated in various games. The club also observed and celebrated Independence Day in August 1965 and Republic Day in January 1966. The tennis court is still located in close proximity to the Staff Club, today. The tennis court, however, is currently taken over by the Institute Gymkhana.

C. Gourishankar (1926-2002). After working for several years with the Geological Survey of India and being a geologist by qualification, Gourishankar had later started his career as a photographer. Gourishankar was driven to achieve flawlessness and perfection in everything that he did. Thus his photographs had an impeccable quality that characterised them. Every photograph that Gourishankar took was meticulously planned and shot and printed with diligence and patience. Gourishankar carried out most of the official photography at IIT Madras in the 1960s.
