In the photograph participants are seen to be intently looking at a table, possibly for reading a specific list or for filling out a form. Mardi Gras ‘83, which was held from 26 to 30 January, had invited participants from numerous colleges across India to take part and attend.

During the later years (1987 onwards-) additional features were added to the festival such as Folk Arts, and Lecture-Demonstrations and workshops by professionals. Apart from this, it was noted that the cultural festival was also covered extensively by local and national media - newspaper, radio and magazines. Clips from the festival were also screened on ‘Doordarshan’ in a thirty minute programme.

N S Vinodh. After completing an early education in Bangalore, N. S. Vinodh obtained his B. Tech. in Civil Engineering from IIT Madras in 1986. Being the secretary of the Photography Club at IIT Madras during his third year, he was an avid photography enthusiast. He then went on to complete his MBA from IIM, Lucknow, and later spent his career holding senior positions in the field of Corporate Real Estate with leading multinational financial services companies. He continued to pursue his hobby of photography, integrating it with his love of travel and wildlife.
