This could be a solo music event, with the participant in the photograph singing. Music events included solo and group events for light music and Western music. A wide variety of events and competitions were conducted during Saarang in 2005: Music, Dance, Quiz, Debate, Antakshari, Fine Arts, Extempore, etc., according to the schedule of events from 2005.

Apart from these events, there were also other events called Informals. All these events till date, take place across different venues in IIT Madras. In 2005, Saarang was held from 21 to 26 January.
