There were several declamation events during Saarang such as Debate, Extempore and others. The event taking place in the photograph may have been one of those. The participant’s posture does not represent singing. Therefore, this may have possible been a public speaking competition.
The 2005 iteration of Saarang saw numerous events such as Creative Writing, Potpourri, Crossie, Informals, Music Quiz, Sports Quiz, Business Quiz, Light Music, Western Music, Semi Classical Vocals and Extempore among others, according to the event schedule. These events were held at different locations on campus.
This particular event may have taken place in one of the newer classrooms at that time.
